in order to enter
the contest. However
in order to accept
the grand prize,
ONLY the winning
home must sign a
listing contract
with Hallmark
Sotheby’s
International
Realty.
What kind of updates
will be done to my
home?
Answer: Every
home is unique. To
maximize the prize
potential our
objective is to stay
within the budget of
$50,000 to improve
the overall market
value of your home.
Our goal is to sell
your home for more
than it is worth in
its current state,
by making the
“right” updates that
will net you the
most money.
The contest prize is
EXTREME Staging.
What will get done
is dependent on what
will improve the
overall market

home is already
listed with another
Real estate agent;
can I still enter
the contest?
Answer: You may
enter if you are
listed with another
Real estate agent.
However, as stated
in the rules, in
order to accept the
grand prize, the
winning homeowner
must sign a listing
contract with
Hallmark Sotheby’s
International
Realty. Because of
this, you would only
be eligible to
receive the grand
prize if you were
not currently listed
with another company
as of March 31,
2010.
What is the deadline
for entering the
contest?
Answer: All
contest entries must
be received by
midnight on April 15, 2010. The
winner will be
announced on April
26th 2010.
Seller: How will the
six finalists be
selected
Answer: The
six finalists will
be selected based on
their essay
submissions.
Seller: How will the
winner be selected?
Answer: The
winner will be
picked based on the
highest rating of
the home inspection
out of the six
finalists.
Seller: What are my
responsibilities/what
do I need to provide
if I am picked for
the final 6?
Answer:
If property has a
septic system,
seller must have
Title V in hand by
March 31st 2010
Title V is good for
three years
Seller will have to

mark for any power
lines
Seller may be
required to store
personal belongings
depending upon the
scope of
the design work to be done
Our attorney will do
a title search at no
cost to you
Our Home Inspector
will rule out any
structural or major
flaws in the house

Seller: Why am I
going to be getting
a 1099 tax form?
Answer: In the
state of
Massachusetts,
receipt of any
prizes with an
approximate retail
value of $600 and
above, requires a
1099 tax form be
filed with the IRS.
Check with your
accountant for more
details regarding
1099 and acceptance
of prizes.
Seller: Is there
a limit to the
number of entrants?
Answer: Yes,
it is limited to
1000 entries only on
a first come first
serve basis. Tell
your friends and
family!
Seller: Will you
sell my home for
free?
Answer: No,
our commission is
still a standard fee
as part of the
selling transaction.
Our contribution is
the collaboration of
the partners and the
promotion of the
contest to bring
this opportunity to
the towns that are
eligible.
